I’ve been going to Evolution Lash for about three years or probably more. It took me a long time to find a place that I can truly trust with my lashes and I have never went anywhere else after finding this lash studio. All the ladies are phenomenal so I never have to worry about having to adjust the days for my refill appointment . Also, they discuss their styles, options and prices thoroughly so there are no surprises especially with the costs. They also have a phenomenal skin aesthetician whose facial treatments are amazing! I absolutely love this place, and all the ladies here! I highly recommend this place to all my friends and to anyone who asks me where I get my lashes done. I got a hydra facial and peel with Monica yesterday and it was truly the best experience and facial I have ever had! Do lash extensions damage your natural lashes?
Not when they're applied correctly, and that's really the whole story! A properly trained lash artist attaches each extension to a single natural lash, never clumping multiple lashes together, so your natural lash cycle isn't disrupted and nothing gets pulled or weighed down. Where damage actually happens is almost always from something else: extensions applied too heavy for your natural lash to support, glue applied by someone who skipped proper training, or picking and pulling at your lashes at home instead of coming in for a fill. That's the whole reason licensing and ongoing training matter so much in this industry, and it's a big part of why we take it seriously here.
Can I wear mascara with lash extensions?
Technically yes, but honestly, most clients find they don't need it once their set is in. If you do want a little extra on special occasions, stick to a water-based formula and skip anything oil-based or waterproof, since oil breaks down the adhesive bond and waterproof formulas need harsh removers that will do the same thing. Apply it lightly, keep it off the base of the lash line, and always take it off before bed. Sleeping in mascara is rough on natural lashes with or without extensions.
Do I need a patch test, and can I be allergic to lash extensions?
The extension material itself is very rarely the issue, but the adhesive can be, and reactions do happen more often than people expect. If you've had sensitivity to lash glue before, or you're just not sure how your skin will react, a patch test ahead of your appointment is always worth it. This is actually where Evolution stands apart. Evelyn is the only Allergy Conscious Artist in Monmouth and Ocean counties, and one of just two in the entire state of New Jersey, which means she's specifically trained to work with clients who've reacted elsewhere or who are nervous about trying extensions for the first time because of sensitivity concerns. If lash glue has been the reason you've avoided extensions, this is the studio built for exactly that problem!
Can I shower, swim, or get my lashes wet?
Give the adhesive time to fully cure before you get your lashes wet, roughly 24 to 48 hours after application. After that, showering, swimming, and normal water exposure are totally fine. Just avoid rubbing your eyes or scrubbing the lash line, pat dry instead of wiping, and steer clear of oil-based cleansers or makeup removers near your eyes since oil is what breaks the bond down over time. Chlorine and saltwater won't ruin your set, they just mean slightly more gentle care afterward.
How do I know which facial is right for me?
Start with what your skin actually needs right now rather than what sounds the most luxurious! If you're dealing with texture, dullness, or clogged pores, a HydraFacial or lactic peel is a great place to start. If fine lines, hyperpigmentation, or melasma are the concern, the TCA peel is going to get you further, and it comes with zero downtime. Prepping for an event and want that lit-from-within glow with no risk of irritation, dermaplaning pairs beautifully with almost anything else on the menu.
